Ponlok Khmer (PKH) needs to recruit two staff members, community empowerment facilitator and IT & Web designer see the detail bellow Job Announcement Community Empowerment Facilitator Ponlok Khmer- People and Knowledge of Highlanders (PKH) is a local NGO formed in Feb, 2005 and registered with Ministry of Interior of Cambodia on 24 June, 2008. It envisions that “Cambodian citizens living harmoniously in a prosperous, democratic and peaceful society, with free choice, healthy environments and have access to quality education”. To gain this aims “PKH works with community representatives to empower the vulnerable and indigenous peoples to ensure their meaningful participation, provide consultation for development, and sustain natural resources through culturally appropriate practices and to strengthen quality education”. PKH focuses on resource rights, sustainable natural resource management, and social enterprise development on non-timbers forest products in the context of climate changes. In particular, up to date, PKH had been implementing a program to empower communities in natural resource management for sustainability of local livelihood. The idea of the People-Led Development is invested in the program for 2013-2015. There are three main components: 1- Capacity and community’s constituencies development 2- Forest and land security tenure 3- Strengthening the community base organizations’ products PKH now is urgent need to recruit Community Empowerment Facilitator to be based in Preah Vihear Province. Contract: Long Term employment with Annual contract based, starting immediately that to be interviewed based on the quality of applicants/candidates up to the closing date. Scope of work: The Community Empowerment Facilitator is required to report to Forestry Area Program Coordinator and coordinate the works with other program staff. Dimension: The roles and responsibilities of the Community Empowerment Facilitator is under the supervision of ED and wide of the works are ensure the PKH policies and procedures, the strategic planning and core values are implemented. Key area for responsibilities: 1- Project coordination • Assist/work to support other project activities of Ponlok Khmer implemented in your target villages. • Prepare workplan based on the project annual work plan for carrying out at the field. • Attend monthly staff meeting and annual work plan. • Coordination and join with other program team of the organization in specific activities that required doing. 2- Ensure project activities at your target villages are implemented successfully. • Work with forestry team to facilitate CF community committee to prepare their monthly activities • Provide technical support to CF community committee on CF development and CF management plan and community livelihoods activities • Encourage/motivate Forest Network and members and Committee to be strong participation in Community. • Ensure good cooperation with Network and Local authority to ensure successful project implementation. • Facilitate Forest Network’s initiatives and Community. • Facilitate the Small Scale Enterprise for the community initiative. 3- Ensure good cooperation with local authority • Communicate with local authorities, Forestry Administration (FA) to join with community activities • Act on behalf of PKH to join meeting with local authority at district and commune level Requirement • University Degree in forestry or natural resource management or related field. • or experience working with social forestry at least 2 years. • Proficiency in English is preferred; and • Strong computer skills • High commitment to work with very remote area and sometimes stay in forest with community • Interest to help the poor and indigenous people in land conflict and resource rights • Interest in forest and biodiversity conservation... with good background- free from illegal logging and wildlife hunting crime Interested candidates are invited to submit CV along with cover letter and to: Ponlok Khmer office, Thmey village, Sangkat Kampong Pranak, Preah Vihear town. Key area for responsibilities: 1- Development and maintenance of website and facebook of Ponlok Khmer • Provide the wide range of documentation for communication with the outside world • Publication and designation and upload the importance doc into the PKH webpage and facebook • Regularly updating the associations website 2- Work to maintain IT system of Ponlok Khmer • Keep IT system working properly • Backup and maintain data to ensure a safe place • Maintaining networking and regularly scanning virus of the facility • Backup and maintenance Server and File Security • Install and update software (operating systems and productivity) to enable staff to access the same information • Solve any problems related to computer equipment • Filing the current use of doc (strategic, admin and finance ) in share info with the safe manner • Establishing and maintaining electronic copies for the Program of key documents, reports, Program Semi-Annual Performance Monitoring Reports, field monitoring reports, and Program correspondence, etc.) • Support any outline and field work documenting (baseline survey, PRA) with the update methodologies. • Work with Communication Coordinator to set up database and profiles of target • Backup and maintain data to ensure a safe place 3- Work as Cameraman to produce short video clip of PKH activities and update to facebook and website of PKH • Collect relevant information from events, initiatives on activities to be used for VCDs, filming, newsletter and website. The event from the hot spot to be recorded. • Arrange preparation of the quarterly issue of the newsletter, • Arrange preparation of printing leaflet and booklets • Supervise putting a newsletter in the final format and actual printing • Coordinate in radio and TV programs as well as to write relevant information for media • Ensure the quality of media and regular distribution to the relevant stakeholders and development partners on time • Maintain camera use and maintain other IT-materials Requirement • Cambodian National with experience living and working at remote area in forestry and advocacy sector • University Degree in Computer Sciences, IT and other related field • Demonstrated experience in web development, maintenance, uploading and editing, • High proficiency in English as a critical asset; and • Strong computer skills in the design and publication of high quality documents and reports. • Demonstrate high commitment to work with IP and poor rural community • Respect human rights • Interest in saving the remaining forest and biodiversity of Cambodia Interested candidates are invited to submit CV along with cover letter and to: Ponlok Khmer office, Thmey village, Sangkat Kampong Pranak, Preah Vihear town.
