President Hadi resigned to escape being assassinated ------ Two Houthi leaders; Ali Elemad and Youssef Alfeshi, prominent names in the Houthi Party; spoke shortly after Hadis resignation about a presidential board to be established. The two men are close to the party leader; that is Houthis choice of murdering President Hadi and going on establishing a presidential board was already made. It is clear that Houthis and Saleh agreed on a plot for driving Hadi to resist to give them a reason for murdering him, but he didnt. Houthis threatened Hadi to murder him, break into his house and kill everyone there if he did not give orders of handling the presidential house to them; this was the reason for stopping fights in his house and sparing his life and his familys lives. At an earlier time, Mahdi Almashat used to threaten Hadi and his advisers that if their demands are met, the first statement is ready with him. Long ago, Houthis and avenging Saleh made their minds about overthrowing hadi but they wanted a method to remove him. One method was forcing him to name a vice-president. To the last moment before he resigned they were negotiating over assigning a vice-president so that they have a legal constitutional legitimacy and wouldnt have to get back to Yehia Alraeis parliament, one of the removed presidents men, nor to a presidential board where they need political parties to make legitimate or overtake in the form of a clear coup. Perhaps Hadi understood that Houthis were negotiating over his death. They kept insisting that he names a vice-president, so he had to declare his resignation quickly. It is true that Hadi Managed so far to protect himself from being murdered; exactly what the removed president Ali Saleh kept acting for, but did not happen. Yet, Hadi is still under danger. Houthis, with some of Salehs proponents and security men, are now standing on the rooms of the private doors of the resigned president who had about 30 persons of his family and fellow village people killed or wounded upon fights that took place in his house. We dont know for certain what goes inside, but the man is under house arrest and realizes well that Houthis hands are on the trigger. Resignation was his last weapon to protect him and those in the house, and the last means he had to clear himself before Yemenis. The resignation statement, to which people did not pay attention much, was more like an obituary in which Hadi said he was betrayed. ----- Ahmed Alshalfi
