Prior to the 1860 historical Presidential election of the United States of America, the polity was heated and the heavy weights were as good as gone. One stand out thing about this election which I make reference to was the emergence of the first republican and nineteenth president of the United states, this man Abraham Lincoln was been considered as a potential villain due to his open opposition to slave trade, despot and nepotism, which was the order of the day back then. People discouraged him, some called him a joke while a few others stood by him as journeyed to be the second most popular and influential ever president of America(according to America online poll), the story of the American civil war after his election is a topic for another day. Kodilichukwu Okelekwe just like Abraham Lincoln has been receiving a lot of words of discouragement from several people, some even make mockery of our crusade and outreach for good governance, we must give it to others that encourages us and as matter of fact even pledge their undivided loyalty to this voyage. At the end of 1860 presidential election, heavy weights like Stephen Douglas(tipped to win the election but ended up in distant fourth position), James Breckinridge and John Bell were all left without the option than to join hands with the new president(Abraham Lincoln) and forge the way forward for America. For the records we are in a transition stage in Nigeria and if all things be equal, our own Abraham Lincoln(Kodilichukwu Okelekwe) has just began his journey to serve amidst the challenges and storms along the way. All hands need to be on deck, resembling Lincoln, when the life history of this extraordinary gentleman comes to play, we see that they both had challenges at their early stages of life, they grew up the hard way, therefore when it comes to being compassionate, its just the next thing to their heart because they once felt the scourge of being in need. Sermons apart and the truth be told, I urge us all to sit down for some minutes and pounder on our next move, I keep saying it that a wrong choice this time around will send four years backwards and Anambra central senatorial zone will take the bull by the horn as we embark on a trip to make our voices been heard on the senate...
