Problem is that many times people kill these animals when they are just passing through not necessarily looking for a new hunting ground. As well as many do not realize how beneficial these animals are at keeping excessive pest problems like rodents, opossum as well as injured, sick animals etc. under control. Unfortunately until the mentality to do these things is changed and people are educated on the benefits of these animals it will continue. To deny it happens only gives power to those who do such atrocities.
