Profound. I guess there is a reason Koreans think it appropriate to have a wall full of bleaching creams to go along with the weaves and wigs they sell. We can analyze and justify all we want but at the end of the day it represents aspiring toward a European standard of beauty, and our participation in it is an unspoken admission that we believe this imposed standard to be superior to the natural beauty we have in ourselves. Brothers minds are assaulted just as much, so they often pick partners and develop attractions based on this lie as well, reinforcing unaware black womens belief that their natural attributes arent good enough.
