Question: who has made the transition recently from iPhone to Android, and generally from Apple back to Microsoft/Google etc? I frankly dont see the advantage of paying 3X as much for my next computer, as my work laptop with Windows 7 works just as well (with more programs) than my older apple desktop. And the only thing that my iPhone provides that I cant get elsewhere is iMessage (which I love), but thats hardly enough of a reason to stay in their overly-control ecosystem. Especially if they end up going with a proprietary earphone plug. That would be the end of Apple for me. Not to mention the fact that Im probably more closely tied to Google (Gmail, Chrome, Google Maps) than I am to Apple. So whats worked well for folks? What has been a disappointment? Would you do it again and recommend it to me?
