Reading Hamid Dabashi calls to painful memory the nonchalance with which a professor and a room full of students (all white except for me) discussed the moral justification™ and feasibility™ of torturing suspect™ (read Brown/Muslim*) bodies in a “Social Philosophy” course that I had to attend in uni. And at the same time, reading what should be common sense™ in those powerful words does feel somewhat empowering...
