Receive the Promises Through Obedience There are so many promises in the bible from the Lord that would bless us every which way, if we would only hear the words and obey them. Jesus said: Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:29 (NLT). God promises us the desires of our hearts, if we would delight in His ways. Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalms 37:4 (NIV). The Lord promises us longer life, if we would keep His commandments; and if we honor our fathers and mothers. And if you will walk in my ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David did walk, then I will lengthen your days. 1 Kings 3:14 (KJ2). “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise: “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Ephesians 6:2-3. Prosperity is promised to those who tithe and give offerings to the Lord. Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full: pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. Luke 6:38 (NLT). Not one of Gods promises has ever failed to come true. Soon, I will die, going the way of everything on earth. Deep in your hearts, you know that every promise of the Lord, your God has come true. Not a single one has failed! Joshua 23:14 (NLT). You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3 (ESV). What God promises, we can stand on, like a rock. God is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change His mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through? Numbers 23:19 (NLT). Many promises are prophetic: Therefore, since the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. Hebrews 4:1 (NIV). For no matter how many promises God has made, they are Yes in Christ. And so through Him, the Amen is spoken by us to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NIV). Gods promises give us hope; and our faith is increased each time that we see the fulfillment of them. When a mans ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7 (NAS). The promises run all through the bible. Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalms 37:4 (NIV). Reap the Promises: Obey the Word of God!
