Recycle Your Christmas Trees! Montgomery Township will be recycling Christmas trees through March 1st. Please bring your undecorated christmas trees to William F. Maule Park at Windlestrae (off of Kenas Road). There will be a sign in the parking lot indicating where to drop off the trees. Other Uses for Your Tree: Lay the whole tree in your backyard as shelter for wildlife & birds Use the branches to mulch perennials, they will help to insulate the ground & protect from frost heaving Layer the branches at the bottom of your new compost pile in the spring to increase air flow Use the branches as plant supports Chip the tree to create mulch (I do this in the spring once the branches have dried a bit) Left with just the trunk of the tree? Try using it as rustic garden edging or poles for vines to climb
