Referee clinic: Dear Prospective Member of LPTR, The League of Professional Taekwondo Referees, Inc. is dedicated to promoting Taekwondo events, hosting USAT sanctioned events, and delivering quality to any event in which we participate. To that end we are opening up formal membership in the league. Current membership in the League of Professional Taekwondo Referees, Inc. is $150 for your initial year, and $100 per year renewal. What you get with your initial membership in the League of Professional Taekwondo Referees, Inc. includes: · LPTR-Logoed polo shirt based on your referee rank (USAT or International) · Formal ID card and coat pocket ID badge · 250 League Business Cards · Additional custom LPTR gear will be made available · Discounted admittance as a player to any of our sponsored games · As an Official at a game, you will receive Two (2) or three (3) nights hotel stay (double occupancy, depending upon the length of the event) if you must travel more than 50 miles to officiate at a League or League-Sponsored game · A compensation package when officiating at one of the League sponsored games that recognizes both Referee rank and Dan rank. What we ask of you is that by becoming a member you abide by the rules set down by the league and that you support the league in our endeavors as we attempt to bring civility, respect and fair play back to Taekwondo. Some of the things we will be asking from tournament operators who wish to utilize the League, or have League support and participation are: · For events with large numbers of players (500 players, single elimination), and based on the number of courts, LPTR may request the games be done over multiple days in order to secure League participation · Appropriate Honorariums for events requiring officials to work more than 12 hours · Officials be supplied with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and rest breaks as necessary for long work days · Each court, in a league sponsored or sanctioned event, will be staffed by not fewer than 5 certified referees, one computer operator, and a volunteer · Referees who must travel more than 50 miles have hotel rooms provided: o Single-Day events include two nights hotel stay (night before and after, double occupancy) o Two-Day events include three nights hotel stay (nights before, during and after, double occupancy) Those of you who do not want to be a member at this time, we encourage you to register with the League so that you will still receive emails asking for your support at League events and League-sponsored events. However, the compensation package for non-members will be at the current USAT recognized standard rates: · USAT Referee : $50 · International Referee: $100 The League of Professional Taekwondo Referees, Inc. will assist you in attaining new Dan and referee certifications, by hosting Dan Testing and Referee Certification Courses through the USAT. The League of Professional Taekwondo Referees, Inc. will also be offering Members the opportunity to “Buy-In” to events that the League sponsors and share in a percentage of the profits. The League of Professional Taekwondo Referees, Inc. is currently planning to run or sponsor 4-6 tournament-style events per year. You will be notified in advance of upcoming Buy-In opportunities and given a timeline in which you can choose to buy-in along with the anticipated gross expense of the event.
