Referring back to Mr.Milton Pickard...Foundation QH Breeder and my good friend...from Weatherford,Texas...I wanted to continue to share this . One day, Mr.Pickard had called me, and asked me if I wanted a picture of a Quarter Horse....and I said...I would love to have it..thinking it was a 8x10 glossy photograph....When I arrived at the ranch..Mr.Pickard and I walked toward a bunkhouse..he went in..and came out, with a large wooden frame, with an original oil painting of his stallion..Last Down...Mr. Pickard looked at me..and asked me if I would like to have it....I said ..I would be very proud to have it....With sadness..in his eyes, he said..none of his sons wanted the painting...!!...I will never forgot that day !!....But..I am wondering..just how many QH Breeders have faced the same dilemma...and their families..or sons..not wanting, the horses or heirlooms, that were treasured, at one time...sad, isnt it..!!...... I will be entrusting this painting to the Doss Heritage Center here in Weatherford...when I decide to find a new home for it, that way, I will know, it has a permanent home..!!
