Reflections from Juzz 7: We know indeed the grief which their words cause you (Oh Muhammad): it is not you that they deny, but it is the Verses (the Quran) of Allah that the Dhalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) deny. Surah Anam: 33. How much God loved His Prophet (peace be upon him) and He recognises the pain the Messenger of Allah went through when he was rejected by the Pagans, Christians and Jews, God consoles him by reassuring him that its not that the disbelievers have anything personal against him, they couldnt, his character was impeccable- but it is only because they hate the truth the Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam brought to them which did not fit their desires that they show animosity towards him. This is an amazing principle to remember, especially when giving dawah. Those who we are explaining Islam to may act very harshly, resort to name calling, be very insulting and condescending towards us. If we are giving dawah with the correct etiquettes but they still reject it, we shouldnt feel dishearted or insecure about ourselves or our deen. The problem is that they love their desires too much to recognise the truth, we should rest assured that it probably has nothing to do with us.
