***Remote/Deployed Family Social*** This months social will be held on Friday, 13 December at the Eielson Community Center from 5:00-6:30pm. The 168th family services will be providing the meal and for the activity we will be putting your families picture on a pillow case for you to send them downrange. Learn what you and your family can do to adjust successfully. **Car Care Because We Care - This program is funded through Air Force Aid and provides free oil change to spouses of AF members who are deployed 30 days or more or who are serving on a one-year remote tour. Simply make an appointment with the Eielson Auto Skills Center (377-3190), and then stop by the A&FRC to pick up the oil change voucher prior to the service date. The goal of this program is to ensure the safety of the family vehicle during separation. **Hearts Apart Telephone Calls - This allows you to call your spouse at the deployed location. The Air Force policy one phone call per week; however Eielson allows 3 calls per week for 15 minutes each. Should the mission, plus increased number of phone calls prevent this, well fall back to the Air Force policy. If your spouse has a phone number where they can be reached at, call 377-5888, give the operator your name and your spouses phone number. NOTE: This service is available Monday through Friday 7:00am until 7:00pm. **Give Parents A Break - This program offers a break to families who face the ongoing stress of deployment, family separation, extended TDY, or an emergency situation. Free child care is provided at the base Child Development Center and School Age Program one day per month. To receive your certificate for free childcare, please call the A&FRC at 377-2178. The next GPAB is on 7 Dec from 5:30-11:00pm. **Remote/Deployed Monthly Social - Our monthly get together to families of AF members who are deployed or serving on a one-year remote tour. Why not come out and meet other families of deployed members have dinner on us, get the kids out of the house and get tips on family separations. Events are normally held one Friday evening during the month, 5:00-6:30p.m. Must sign-up for the event. Call 377-2178 for food and fun! Social for Dec will be held on the 13th from 5-6:30pm. ***Dining Facility - The Eielson dining facility is now opening its doors for deployed families for evening meals. They serve some great food and have a friendly, family atmosphere. Call 377-3269 or 377-2417 with any questions you may have. Every month the evening meal will be served on a different day. Families are invited on Thursday evenings thru the month of December. **Free Bowling - Arctic Nite Lanes Bowling Center offers free bowling for deployed families. You can bowl 3 games free every Monday from 5:00-7:00. Please call 377-1129 for more information. The bowling alley has the list of deployed families.
