Round 1 of the 2014 playoffs begins for the Stonemen with a 9-7 win over the #3 seed, West Bend. I wasnt at the game, prompting some to say I should stay away again tomorrow, but Jean kept the book so here goes. Troy started on the mound and had it going early. He gave up 1 hit and had 3 strike outs in the 1st 2 innings before giving up 2 in the 3rd on a walk, hit batter and 3 hits. The 4th through the 7th went well, as he gave up no runs on 1 hit and 3 strike outs. He ran into some trouble in the 8th giving up 5 runs, leaving with the bases loaded, and giving way to Jed who was able to get out of the inning. After letting a couple of inherited runners to score, Jed got the last 2 outs and preserved a 9-7 lead. Jed got the last out in the ninth as they had the winning run at the plate. Well pitched by both guys. We scored 2 in the 1st as heads up base running scored the 2nd run while Dean was in a rundown. The big inning was the 4th as we scored 6 runs and 1 more in the 6th. Nick had a hit, stolen base , run scored and a RBI, Ty had a double, stolen base and scored 3 runs, Zach had a walk, run scored and a RBI ground out, Dean was 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI, Adam had a hit, walk and a run scored, Dan was 3-5 with a run scored, Tim had a hit, walk, sacrifice and a stolen base, Jason had a couple of hits and a RBI and Kyle had 2 hits including a double and 2 big RBI. Good all around game and now it is off to Pewaukee to face the #1 seed at 1 pm on Sunday. Lets go Stonemen!!
