SAYONARA14 : Every journey has to reach its proper destination within a period of time inorder to move on to a new journey.The department of sociology in psgcas started its beautiful journey with an inaugration in the month of Aug.2013 and today (28.03.2013) the department celebrated its valedictory cum farewell function to greet its outgoing students.The function was formally decorated with a word called SAYONARA14,which means good bye in american language.The function started by 2:00pm at the sangamam hall on the behalf of the Guest of honour Dr.K.Rathnasabapathy sir from the english department of our college,our respected Principal Dr.R.Rajendren,Our beloved HOD Dr.Thirunanasambandham sir,Our faculty members Dr.Kavitha,Mr.S.Boopathy Narendren,Mr.Balaramalingam and the students of first ,second and third years of B.A.Sociology. The function started with an overwhelming welcome address given by Mr.G.Vignesh from second year.Then an annual report of the department was produced before the gathering by our departments chairman Ms.Shenbaga Archana.Following this,an inspiring speech was given by our respected Principal regarding the importance of Sociology. Succeeding this,Our honourable HOD Dr.Thirunanasambandham sir delivered his presidential address and spoke a few words on the scope of sociology and about the real heights that a true sociologist can reach.Then our Guest of the day gave his valedictory address followed by his small speech on the true love and care,he insisted us how communication skill plays a major role in the life of a common being. Next to this,as a new element,the awards of Mr.&Ms.Sociology was introduced in this Sayonara14 to honour our outgoing students.So,for this year Mr.Sakthi P got the award of Mr.Sociology and Ms.Priyadharshini as Ms.Sociology.Finally to express the piece of gratitude,a vote of thanks was done by Ms.Vahini R of first year to thank all who have lended their helping hands for the great success of this Sayonara14.The function was concluded with the national anthem.
