SUSPECTED CORRUPTION - not personally sure Alcock Ashdown presented a proven design boat to Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) as a response to a tender. GMB however requested a costly foreign engine instead of our proposal - based on proposal from another designer. As a Senior Architect, I was asked to discuss the matter with technical committee of GMB and I presented our proven design along with complete calculations supporting our proposal. It was verbally informed to me that GMB later decided to adopt the foriegn Engine, instead of my proposed Indian Engines Ashok Leyland and Crompton Greaves. There was a rumor that the foreign Engine Dealer had paid the other designer and convinced GMB. But I do not have any proof of these two information with me.
