Sad to hear about the passing of Eli Wallach. At 98 years old - its not a tragedy when an old man dies. Yet Wallach was a great talent, it seems to me his was a life well lived, and he was one of the great actors of the last century. Its feels incorrect to put one spotlight on one role over so many other performances, but tonight I cant help but think of the Good, The Bad, And the Ugly. Ill never forget the first time I saw it. When it was repeated on weekend nights on TV over the years my late Father and I would often drop what we were doing and watch it together, and that was a fine shared memory we had. Its one of those films that no matter what scene you start watching it at, you feel compelled to watch it to the end, and much of that has to do with Wallachs performance that bristles with energy and jumps off the screen. If you havent seen it before take a tip from your Uncle Chappy and treat yourself. RIP Eli.
