Sad to see that Pau Gasol, and his glorious Spaniard war cry, is headed out of Los Angeles and will join the Chicago Bulls. I had so much fun watching him win two championships with my friends Hank Hughes, Victor Evans, & Lance Shira. He is going into a great situation in Chicago and I hope he can help that team become a legit contender. Being a sports fan is an endless cycle of becoming super attached to complete strangers and then developing a power forward size hole in your heart when they leave. Everyone from those championship teams are gone. Derek Fisher is coaching the Knicks this season, Lamar Odom is playing in Europe, Andrew Bynum might be calling it a career, Luke Walton is an assistant coach now, Farmar is a Clipper, Shannon is a Knick, Vujacic is probably running a youth camp somewhere in Slovenia, Metta World Peace might be retiring and as for Dj Mbenga, Josh Powell and Adam Morrison your guess is as good as mine. Now Gasol is going to Chicago and all that remains is what is left of Kobe Bryant. Basketball is like everything else in life. No matter the level of greatness you are able to achieve eventually it will all be gone and all that you will be left with is the hope that you will be remembered for your best moments as opposed to your worst.
