Saint Thérèse was declared co-patron of the missions with Francis Xavier in 1927, and named co-patron of France with Joan of Arc in 1944. On October 19, 1997 Pope John Paul II declared her the thirty-third Doctor of the Church, the youngest person, and at that time only the third woman, to be so honored. Devotion to Thérèse has developed around the world. Today we celebrate the Feast day of Saint Therese of Lisieux as we pray: O glorious Saint Therese, whom Almighty God has raised up to aid and counsel mankind, I implore your Miraculous Intercession. So powerful are you in obtaining in every need of body and soul our Holy Mother Church proclaims you a Prodigy of Miracles...the Greatest Saint of Modern Times. Let us silently pray for our own intentions and ask Graces through Saint Therese Intercession...Amen
