Saw Mother Courage and Her Children this afternoon at Arena Stage. Kathleen Turner is awesome, and the production is very well put together. Its based on an anti-war play written by Berthold Brecht in 1939, and is sort of a musical, but not exactly. Highly recommended for live theater buffs. When the lights came up at intermission and everyone snatched up their phones, there was a sudden strange pall in the theater. My buddy Bri looked up from his phone and said, simply, Philip Seymour Hoffman died.
