Scots is the language of the lowlands of Scotland, nearer to England. Its related to Old English and bears some similarity to English. In the Highlands, the native language is Gaelic, which bears no relation at all to English. This is the same title in Gaelic. I live near to the border with Wales, where the native language is Welsh. Again, it bears absolutely no relation to English, apart from the odd Latin loan word. It has very different sounds too. Its literally easier for an English person to understand French, to which English is related, than Welsh. I think its cool that weve got such completely different languages within a few hours of one another..
