Scott Monty has announced he is stepping out of Ford Motors. Ford seems to have been making adjustments in its top level team. I am in no position to judge their inner works, but I am disappointed to see Scott leave. He accomplished a great deal in getting skeptics like me to believe in that Ford could be trusted in statements and in product. It seems that many of enterprise stars of social media have left the enterprises. Richard Binhammer, Lionel Menchaca Jr., Frank Eliason, Ekaterina Walter and now Scott. It makes me fearful that social media will just become another channel for outbound marketing messages, when it can be so very much more. We are in a time when people just dont much trust big organizations. It seems to me short-sighted for them to leave conversations behind and cling to last-generation message mongering. In any case, I wish Scott the very best of luck moving forward. Let me be the first to congratulate whatever organization is fortunate to employ him next. He is a trusted brand who can help get others to trust you--if you behave in a trustworthy fashion.
