Second, not fearing God reduces our appreciation of Gods mercy. Until we understand the desperate condition of sinners before a holy God, we cannot understand the magnitude and wonder of the grace he has shown us in Christ. The sad truth is that some people are not impressed with their salvation, not properly thankful for what God has done for them. Their lack of gratitude is rooted in a lack of understanding of what has been done on their behalf.
