Secretary Hilary Clintons speech on Internet Freedom in 2011 highlights the importance of WHY the Internet should be a free platform to express ideas and opinions without the fear of government interference and surveillance. If there is no right to privacy, there can be no true freedom of expression and opinion, and therefore no effective democracy.... We stand for a single internet where all of humanity has equal access to knowledge and ideas.
