SharePoint: Case Matters! Searching for items in SharePoint if you performed a search on -- train and trips -- you might be surprised at the number of results you receive. If you wish to search using the operators AND and OR, then they must be in UPPERCASE. In the last example SharePoint will automatically assume you are looking for documents that contain the words “train” & “and” & “trips”. Changing the search string to Train AND Trips will narrow the results considerably. On the other hand typing “train trips” enclosed in quotations will only return documents with those words next to each other.
