Many devotees had come for darsan. Periayava had to rise at 3-30 am for his daily anushtanam. So Periyava called his kaingariya devotee Nagarajan and asked him to wake himt 3-30 am -morning. So Nagarajan was thinking of the time 3-30 am. On those days, facilities for alarms were not there. Moreover watches won’t be worn by kaingariya devotees on those days. Shri Nagarajan thought of old watch in his box and so he kept that watch for watching time. He recited slokams and had not slept for the whole night . At 3-30 am. he was before Periyava’s room chanting jaya jaya sankara and hara hara sankara. Periyava came out of his room and Nagarajan got Visvaropa darsan. Next day ,it was the duty of Nagarajan to inform Periyava about the morning time 3-30 am. Devotee Nagarajan was able to chant jaya jaya sankara hara hara sankara before the sannidhi where Periyava stayed for three days continusouly. He did service for Periyava during day time and for three days continuously, he had not slept. On the fourth day, he recited slokams and was able to keep himself awake till 2-30 am and afterwards he fell to sleep unknowingly. At the stroke of 3-30 am, Periyava was chanting jaya jaya sankara hara hara hara sankara and was standing before his devotee Nagarajan. Nagarajan was shocked to see Periyava standing before him and chanting jaya jaya sankara hara hara sankara. Then Periyava went to anushtanam. On the fifth day, Nagarajan with a small vessel of water and his watch, he was reciting slokams till 2-30 am. After 2-30 am, he had gone to sleep.He decided not to sleep till 3-30 am and if sleep came, he can wash his eyes with water. At 3-30 am , Periyava was standing before him. Periyava told Nagarajan that you were doing kaingariyam for me during day time and it was not possible to keep awake during night hours. Nagarajan was wondering how Periyava came before him on the 4th day and 5th day exactly at 3-30 am as Periyava was not having any watch and he alone had the watch with him. He wanted to know about this from Periyava.So after the darsan of the devotes were over, Nagarajan with some hesitation went to Periyava sannidhi and asked the question about raising at 3-30 am. Periyava told Nagarajan that nobvody came to get from sleep but there was a bus with horn sound going through the periachatram exactly at 3-30 am. When you raised me on the first day at 3-30 am, I observed that a bus was going through this route and I got the information from the local people that a bus was travelling from Madurai to Pudukottai crossing our camp place at 3-30 am. After hearing the sound of the bus, on the forurth day and 5th day , I raised and came before you. This is an incident how Periyava observes even small things
