Shumlin....why dont you take a pay cut? The citizens of Vermont need emergency communications more than you need the money. Invest in Vermont! Additionally....how is it proposed that communication can reach from anywhere to derby for example? Is island pond going to go without emergency coverage because communication cant be reached? I dont know if you have ever tried to listen to radio traffic through a headset while the phone is ringing off the hook and the radio has so much static cover you can barely hear your unit going on a 75 but I have. Its dangerous when your service men and women need back up and you cant send it because you dont know where they are! Many things in this state can be consolidated but leave emergency communications out of it! ALL VERMONTERS are affected...not just those whose jobs you are cutting! ;( #cantwaittomoveandgivemymoneytoastatethatactuallycaresfortheircitizens!
