Slaves must obey their master. Our servitude is voluntary and stems from our love for the Master. “This is what the love of God means,” states 1 John 5:3, “that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome.” For us, then, our obedience is proof of our love as well as our submission. It is evident in everything we do. “Whether you are eating or drinking or doing anything else,” said Paul, “do all things for God’s glory.” (1 Corinthians 10:31) In everyday life, even in small ways, we want to show that we “slave for Jehovah.”—Romans 12:11.
