Snatch theft seems to have become a permanent feature of the Malaysian daily life these days. This is an insult to the core values of our national life and a blow to a society that professes to be caring and concerned about the welfare of its citizens. The hardest thing to accept is that women, foreign female visitors to this country and the elderly are popular targets of snatch theft would be criminals.. Drug addicts are alleged to be the primary perpetrators of this humiliating crime. Something must to be done URGENTLY to correct this most unhealthy and disgusting image of Malaysia. MINISTER OF HOME AFFAIRS, PDRM and OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, you have your hands full to tackle this nationally humiliating issue, an issue that has helped to tarnish the Malaysian image. Eye witnesses could also lend a helping hand to those helpless female and elderly victims if and when such act takes place in public places where there are usually a lot of passersby as eye witnesses. In some countries "citizen arrest" have played a very positive part in combating such a crime.
