So 2014 was one tough year. From watching my grandmothers struggle and eventual end of life to alzheimers I learned that sometimes life isnt fair. Arielles brain surgery taught me that no matter how hard you try to protect your children accidents can happen, and God is there to heal what we cannot. I learned that no matter how much someone means to you sometimes they will hurt you. Not because you are broken, but because they are. I learned that most people do the best that they know how to do, regardless of what we know how to do. I learned that when all hope is gone to mend broken family relationships, that hurts, a whole lot, no matter how broken the relationship had been. If you asked me what was important to me at the beginning of this year it would all be completely different now. My focus this year is to just continue to become a better person, a mother, a friend, a sister and a daughter. My real friends and family have shown up for me in times when I felt I couldnt move on. I have finally decided to leave all of 2014 behind and to move forward with perserverance and strength. I am going to spend more time laughing, dancing, playing, loving than ever before. I am going to teach my kids that to live means more than just surviving. I am going to teach them how wonderful and beautiful life can be. This year is going to be about teaching my children to dance in the rain.
