So, I want to share a really awesome story of something that happened to me earlier today with everyone. About 3 months ago I bought myself 2 tickets to Katy Perry for her concert on July 19th at the ACC. For anyone who hasnt noticed, shes my favourite lol. I had been counting down the days and it was like a dream come true. Then life got in the way and I couldnt afford to go. I just dont have the money to get there and the plans just fell through. So after much debate I finally decided to post the tickets on Kijiji. They had been up there for 2 weeks and I just finally got a reply this morning. As Im talking to the woman who wants the tickets, I come to find out that she wants them for her daughter who turns 12 tomorrow. I also find out that shes a single mother and a breast cancer survivor. (Yes, I looked her up online and this is all legit). Even though I could use the money, I decide to give her the tickets at no charge as a gift because her story really touched me. She thanked me profusely and told me to look at her website and see what she does for a living and said that if there was any way she could ever repay me to let her know. So I look and it turns out that she has her Masters in Social Work and Psychology. When I told her I was a Social Service Work student she offered for me to do my placement with her and offered to help me out in any other way she could. This whole thing is just unreal to me. Its simply amazing how when two peoples paths need to cross, theres always a way. Ive been extremely broke and Ive been telling myself that it must all be for a reason. And here it is. If I hadnt been so broke, I never would have posted the tickets, if I hadnt posted the tickets, our paths never would have met. So even though I started out heartbroken that I couldnt go to the concert, I got something even better. The joy that those tickets are going to bring to a very deserving mother and daughter is worth more to me than any amount of money. I just wanted to share this because it just proves that even when it seems like the hardships youre going through are for nothing, there is ALWAYS a reason even if you cant see it right away. Being broke was a blessing in disguise.
