So I wanted to share this...just to give a glimpse. I first took this image in May of 2010 and in happening upon this scene at the time I saw it as just being so mystical (like a place where I should see fairies frolicking :) ) The image you see on the left is the base JPG image straight out of the camera. This image is different from the RAW image in a few ways...if youve done your research you know that RAW images may be larger, but with that comes a great deal more of adjustments that can be made. The reason being that RAW files are lossless, they show you every bit of data from an image and give you in some cases the ability to save such an image. A JPG file that comes from the camera is a compression of such data and a generalization of everything your camera sensor absorbed at the time. Now its always interesting to see how vision changes...generally my goal processing an image is to truly portray what that scene made me feel and theres many times I dont post images because I feel that I havent successfully found a way to portray it. I decided to review this image (because Im culling my hard drive down for older images) and figured Id have another go at it....and this time I feel it does reflect more of how I saw it that day :) Not to mention my white balance temp was too blue at the time. Anyway I hope you all enjoyed my blurb on this and like the picture :)
