So... Im going to take a moment and speak honestly from the heart: The food in Italy has been a HUGE disappointment. My husband, who has impeccable taste (obviously), who would eat fois gras for breakfast if he was given the chance and looks down his nose at me when I mention Olive Garden back in the states, has admitted (and I will never let him forget) that Olive Garden does Italian food better than Italians do (not to mention that I work at an amazing Italian Restaurant in Opryland Hotel called Ravello). Our food, regardless of the quality or the reputation of the establishment, has been just meh, with the exception of a couple of places (honestly Im just being generous with that last statement: there was one porchetta sandwich on focaccia that will be remembered with love). We were so looking forward to taking in the AMAZING food weve heard about all of our lives and, well, as I mentioned previously... MEH! But tonight.... Tonight, my dear friends, we ventured away from the bland and repetitive menus of spaghetti alla vongole (clams) or aubergines with marinara (thats eggplant! (Who would have thunk it???)) and got a burger-less bun with hot dogs and french fries inside and a bun-less burger smothered with cheese. And Im NEVER EVER going back!! If burger-less buns (with wieners inside) and bun-less burgers are wrong, I dont ever want to be right!!! The video attached describes exactly how I feel about this... P.S.
