So after my post about Mary last night, I was asked how Mary - TopicsExpress

So after my post about Mary last night, I was asked how Mary Andrus and I met. It is the kind of story that Hollywood would never use because its too unbelievable... So here goes. Mary, whom I had never met, was overseas in Scotland as a graduation gift with her mother. I was back in New Brunswick, living in a room rental downstairs from a crack addict. I was a hapless fellow, and was about to move to Austin where my sister Victoria Jane Coronado lived to write a book and try to start a new life. I had already purchased the one way bus ticket, and that ight I went to an all night Memorial Day party. Little did I know that night would change my life forever. I was outside with some friends at 2 in the morning having a cigarette when we all heard a bad car crash down the street from us and around the corner. The next thing I knew, a huge man cam running around the corner, and ran right past me in the street. Then a cop ran around the corner, and fired two shots at the man. I ran back to the house yelling someone had been shot when I collapsed on the ground, blood gushing from my head. I was the one shot, right in the back of the head, by the police officer. The bullet was meant for the suspect, but struck me instead. I was rushed to the hospital, where my life was miraculously (in the literal sense of the word) saved. Now Mary had just gotten back from Scotland while i was in the hospital. It turned out that it was good friends of hers that had the party. They asked her to come along to for a visit. So the very first time we met each other was while I was recovering from a gunshot wound. I remember telling her while high on morphine that I wanted to see her again because she was so cute. My literal words. I didnt see her again until we inadvertently met up at a Halloween party, from which we began dating. Through her and her born again parents, I met Jesus, as I was searching for answers as to why God spared my life. To this day, without irony I tell people that getting shot in the head was the best thing that ever happened to me, because it brought me my beautiful wife Mary, my relationship with Jesus, and our two beautiful boys. So, yeah. Thats how Mary and I met. Hollywood would never believe it.
