So amidst all the gloomy news, this one somehow escaped my attention when it first came out. The voluntary debt-for-asset swap could be very interesting on many levels. We reduce our debt-to-GDP ratio, and divest assets in one go. But more re-assuringly is the reality of the progress that is being made to a better future. This government has made many missteps, but Minister Phillips has been doing a great job (all things considered - i.e. given the political realities on the ground), and it is good to get a reminder from a neutral party every now and then.
