So heres the early report - grabbed some barbecue our first night here at Q Bar-b-cue (very tasty), second day we attended the Greek Festival (think Yassou times 5. Might give an edge to the souvlaki in J-town), then hit a Mexican place, Plaza Azteca, on Sunday night. Also quite tasty. Were treated to a wonderful, warm welcome Sunday morning at Redeemer that included a standing ovation AND a pounding (yes, I was worried at first). Turns out a pounding is gifting the new staff with a pound of useful stuff (flour, sugar, beans, bread) plus lots of gift certificates. What an amazing surprise and blessing! Plus had some real southern fried chicken at lunch! Working on getting settled into my office today (thats going to be a long project as well). Hope to get the satellite connected today and phone and internet by end of the week. Just an amazing start to our new life.
