So much for multitasking...I like to think this is one of my abilities. I am proven wrong..again! A good customer from Baker City called last Saturday. He was in pursuit of a TV for his motorhome. The TV needed to be a certain size including the stand. We assembled one of the TVs to make sure it would fit..called the customer back and life was good...the TV would fit the space.. We sold all the TVs we had in stock of the same model..except the one we assembled.The customer showed up at the store today to purchase the discussed TV..the only one left was the one we had assembled..this was not a problem..said customer was fine with the one we had put together. He had been hunting and ended his outing early due to bad weather..he had slept in his tent ..in the rain..We were very busy at La Grande Stereo and I was working the counter alone..we had several cars in the shop..maybe 6..we had a line at the counter and both telephone lines were ringing..this is just the way I like it! We finished out transaction and he loaded the TV in to his vehicle...I made sure the dealer pack was in the box...and slipped the remote in last..as I was packing up the TV, I also handled a few phone calls...scheduled a car audio install and helped a customer find some music..I was feeling pretty good about my counter abilities..in fact, I might have mumbled the word amazing about myself. 45 minutes later the telephone rang it it was my customer from Baker City...well, it was his wife..they had no remote for the TV..they did have a cordless telephone in the box...thankfully, they were amused..I did mail them the remote..I found it near the telephone cradles...I will try to remember..one thing at a time...
