So often on the chats, and sometimes here on the various FB pages, I see people making statements along the lines of Can I play my xyz character in your game? or looking for a game where I can play my abc character, etc. Am I, as a GM (mostly online) alone in wondering about this? I mean in my experience no two GMs use the exact same interpretation of the rules, and many have some form of house rules, and/or restrictions on character creation. Every time I have encountered a pre-existing character there is always at least one thing, if not more than one, that does not fit, and would need alteration. And every time such notice is met with... aggressive negative response. Has anyone else experienced this? What are peoples thoughts?
