So went for a nice long run today, and on said run I made my way through some beautiful parks. Now as I ran past a few people I started to notice a disturbing trend. Guy #1 sitting under a tree watching a movie on his ipad. Girls#2&3 head down, eyes fixated on phones. Woman #4 sitting on a park bench on her laptop. Group of young kids #5+ on phones/talking about computers. ...Hmm, I thought. Why is no one appreciating this splendid day? Are we really so dependant on technology that we can no longer take a stroll through a park without it? BUT! Just as my hope for the human race was dwindling, I ran down a walkway with a mother and her, about, 4 year old son, who were walking toward me. And as I passed them, the little kid smiled at me and excitedly yelled. Running! Mum that man is Running!! ...I smiled and gave him a wee wave. But really, I hope that I may have inspired that little kid to take up running, and enjoying parks without the need of an ipad or iSomthing-or-rathers. But in saying all this, I realise it is a sunny day, and I am now inside, writing this, complaining about the very technology I am using. I am the biggest cliche of them all. ....or am I?
