Soaps has confirmation from a Y&R representative that The Young and the Restless alum Shemar Moore will reprise his role as Malcolm Winters in September when the character returns to Genoa City. It is slated to be a short visit in which Moore is scheduled to appear in two episodes. Airing dates for the episodes are Wednesday September 10 and Thursday September 11 when his character Malcolm reunites with his brother Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) and the rest of the Winters family. Moore, who got his start on the daytime soap in 1995 and last appeared in 2005, currently plays Derek Morgan in the primetime TV series Criminal Minds. He said of the news, I am excited about returning to The Young and the Restless as a special guest. This is where I got my start, and I am looking forward to reuniting with my soap opera family.
