Some concerns developing on the cross-country biker - TopicsExpress

Some concerns developing on the cross-country biker front: Delcias Harley was showing some symptoms of trouble with the front brake so she scheduled a zillion-dollar maintenance visit to the stealership. Then she wanted me to load the problematic bike on the trailer and haul it to the shop. I elected to ride it over instead (ever cautious and aware of the front brake symptoms, but fully aware that the rear brake appeared to be in fine shape). Interesting thing about operating in a strange environment (riding an unfamiliar bike): You become hyper alert and sensitive to stimuli. I noticed that I didnt see as well as I thought I did through my left eye, which recalled to me last years observation by my optometrist that I appeared to be developing a cataract there. So... on Monday I go in to get the full diagnosis and hope that I can schedule surgery to have it corrected and healed in time to follow through on my plans for a September bike trip to the Pacific Northwest. Six thousand miles with questionable and unreliable eyesight does not appeal to me. Unfortunately, I cant postpone the trip by even a week, because fluky weather in Montana and Idaho becomes an even bigger big problem.
