Someone once told me, “You should be a lady on the streets and a beast in bed.” They said it in Urdu, my native tongue, and I replied with a question, “How many rap songs have you been listening too?” Mind you this person lives in India, so I don’t think he is listening to “Fidy Cent.” But this is the commonality amongst men. Ladies, if we are married or have a boyfriend our wonderful significant others want us to look like a mess when we go out somewhere. Scratch that last comment; I think all men everywhere in the world want their wives, girlfriends, and especially their daughters to walk around in a Burkha so that no other man can lay their dirty minded eyes on us. It’s sweet and chauvinist at the same time. My personal preference is to have a well groomed gentleman in the streets and bedroom. I do not care for all that nonsense with shaggy hair and facial hair. After a certain age one should be refined and classy. Same thing with women, after a certain age, put away the miniskirts and tube tops. And in the case of Brownies put away the Anarkalis, and the patyalas it’s time to wear a nice shalwar khameez and call it a day. Also, I am by no means an authority on this subject, because I myself am not a practicing Hijabi(one who wears a scarf on their head), but I would like to point out one important fact to all you Hijabis out there. If you are going to wear a Hijab please do not wear clothes that reveal the curves on your body because then there is no point in the Hijab. You are practicing modesty, not making a fashion statement. Also, if you insist upon #hijab then please do not make others who do not wear a Hijab feel like they are less than you. It’s not nice, and again it is defeating the purpose of your Hijab. In conclusion, I’m writing a high school paper, be a lady both on the streets and in the bedroom. Because boys think about it this way, she might be bipolar, and aaj ki rani kaal ki diyan.
