Sometimes I think its the way God planned it To open up our eyes .. And make us realize.... Life is money but what is money without Life.. Had a couple a rough days....stopped in New Mexico to check on a fellow driver. He had died there in his truck two days prior...his dog was there in the truck with him under the hot 102° desert temperature...busted a window & let the poor dog out..then stood back and watched the squad do their thing.... Not a pretty sight or smell...but the big reality slap in the face was that I probably stand a 90% or more chance a going out the same way...somewhere in a lonely rest area..or a truck stop parking lot or a roadside ramp...The man was a 61 year old Marine Corps Viet Nam veteran who must have went thru some shit that apparently even a Marine could not deal with.... He was drinking heavily.. booze bottles lying on the floorboard.. He & the dog were using the truck as a home...everything the man owned was in that truck...and somewhere along the road something made him snap...he began drinking very heavy.. He and the dog were eating bad food..using the restroom in the truck ...yes it was a bad mess.. A mind wonders what the hell happened to this man..Could no one reach him ...did no one care... He had no next of kin and no friends..... No family..... no friends.. There in life is death.. And perhaps there is the answer......he had no family & no friends.... Take a sec & thank God for your family and friends... I do...
