Sometimes in rescue we get the chance to help not just a dog in need, but a family in need. Daisy got out of her yard a few weeks back and was hit by a car. Her owners were devastated and wanted to get Daisy the best care possible. They visited several veterinarians and spent all of their savings to try and save her leg. They did bandage changes, salves, etc...everything that was recommended. At the last visit to their vet, when they knew the savings was gone and the credit cards were maxed, they found out that her leg could not be saved and she would need an amputation. They reached out to Coastal German Shepherd Rescue OC thinking that they would need to relinquish her as they could not afford the surgery. After speaking with them, we decided there was no reason this sweet doggy should lose her home. She deserves to stay with her family who adore her. Thanks to the kind generosity of one of our partner vets, Daisy is having surgery today. We will be covering the cost of her surgery and making sure that she recovers well.
