Sorry for the lack of an update. It has been a very trying day. Early this morning, he was sent to ICU and then had a central line placed to get meds, fluid and blood into him. He is now in PIMCU prepping for a pair of procedures in the morning; he is extremely anemic and his hemoglobin is down, which suggests a bleed, which they need to find. The kidney is badly damaged, about half is no longer working, but the fluids and meds are slowly bringing the creatinine down. The kidney can more or less function (inefficiently) at this level, but there is NO reserve capacity left. As always, your prayers are greatly appreciated.
