Sorry to sound the alarm - Hud had a really rough night, then woke up at noon covered in hives and with a 103 degree fever. Instructions upon discharge last week were to return for fever (among other things). Hud is on multiple meds that lower his immune system & therefore his ability to fight infection, so fevers are taken more seriously. In the ER they drew LOTS of labs, cultured his blood & other things, and gave him a big dose of antibiotics IV to cover any infection. Because he has a personal nurse ☺️ they allowed us to go home where I will keep a close eye on him. Our favorite GI doc is on call this wknd too, so we have lots of support if things go bad. Thanks again for your prayers - we will be hiding out at home trying to keep the boy healthy & out of the hospital. As always, we will just take things one day at a time & try to stay positive. Huds pretty darn good at that, so Ill just try to follow his lead. ❤️ #teamhud
