Sowell is spot on. President Johnsons Great Society was a conscious decision to take blacks and minorities backwards from the progress they had made, ensuring they would not be able to compete with whites, their Unions and the Politically elite. Disgustingly brilliant to bribe minorities not to work. Bribe them to have more kids, stay at home - and cut the Govt bennies if they step forward in their lives. The endless forms of Welfare programs which the US Govt expands and extends at every opportunity even today - - are entrapment to our brothers and sisters, an addiction near impossible to break -- which lock Govt into a wide swath of socially dependent voters who endorse Govts never ending power and money grab - perpetuating Govts cancerous growth!!
