Spring clean out! This spring I plan on clearing out closets, drawers, chests and the basement. It is time. The unused will be donated, some might be a re-purpose, and only the very worn-out-unusable will be thrown. I do not waste, that was born into me from my mom. But clutter, well, a home filled to the brim with clutter will not function properly. When I was young, I remember visiting a great-aunt with mom. We were greeted at the front door, and were only allowed down the hall to the kitchen. The hall was pilled high with tied bundles of newspapers, peeking into the living room I could see boxes pilled on top of furniture, no place to sit and visit, and it seemed that there was only a pathway to move through the room. The kitchen was crowded with small appliances, only the stove was free of clutter and one chair available to sit at the table, which was covered with papers - now I assume bills. The home was dark, no room for sunshine. Our visit was brief, the exchange of conversation minimal, and there was no come again soon or I am happy to see you. Now that was an extreme, but sometimes we allow our lives to be cluttered with things and not people; we harbor ill thoughts and anger that crowds out happiness; we hold onto grudges so there is no place for forgiveness. So, while I am cleaning out the closets of my home, I will make sure to make it eventful and clean out the bad thoughts and allow the Son to shine through. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17
