Standing in line mailing items and the lady behind me starts small talk about having to laugh a lot because the older lady with her was challenging. I quickly added, i get it, as i have a 4 & 5 yr old that i feel compelled to think same way. She notices my packages and asked if i have a lil business at home. So i reply, yes and that i make keepsakes for families who have lost babies and children. Touched, she softly smiled an questioned my inspiration to do so as it was such a great thing she felt i was doing. And for once without freezing i shared with this nice lady i had lost 4 babies and buried 2 of them. And that i often joke when my girls act up its the boys instigating. Openly she shared she had had a loss as well and was so touched to see what i was doing. She was probably 20 yrs older than me so i was surprised at the whole conversation. In short, i just wanted to thank all of you who let me help honor your children through my work. Doing so has helped me open up an share with complete strangers my own losses. Together we are softening society and opening its deaf ears on such a sensitive and life altering experience that many of us have felt alone or hushed about. Now is that time share. Share your childs name. Their story. Their legacy! Some may cringe and pull away, but wow will you be amazed at the feeling you get when you share with a complete stranger and it makes them open up and share. Dont fear responses. Be the change
