Status Update By Jock Barnson BIG NEWS FOR ROCK FANS IN CUMBERNAULD ! ! ! THE BASEMENT ROCKS is the brand new Friday evening rock club we have in Paps night club, running 7.30 - 11.30 every week with Scotlands own Tom Russell playing the sounds and as m.c. The cream of the countrys rock bands will be appearing every Friday night. The awesome ATTICA RAGE will be playing the opening gig on May 2nd, and then LITTLE CHARLIE & THE EASY RIDERS ( with CHRIS GLEN ex Sensational Alex Harvey Band on bass ) will appear on the 9th May. BAD NAME, the top Bon Jovi tribute band in the country make a welcome return to the new town on May 16th. SAFEHOUSE ( featuring ex BluesnTrouble axe-man John Bruce ) will play on May 23rd. Its up to you folks . we have a REAL chance here to attract in touring bands and have a regular top quality rock venue, great bands, top rock d.j., cheap booze, BIG sounds. If you dont support it, it wont last, so spread the word and make it your regular on a Friday evening. Please share, and if you can suggest premesis who will put up posters for us - dont be shy.
